BEFORE YOU GET STARTED, YOU WILL NEED:
EDITING & SAVING YOUR PDF TEMPLATE:
See my Frequently Asked Questions page if you run into issues with any of the below steps. See my Evite Creation page for instructions on how to save your file as a single JPG file to be used as an evite that can be sent via text, email, or on social media. You will need to follow steps 1-4 below first.
1. Choosing a template.
If your download came with a bonus backside, you will need to decide on if you plan to print it or not before choosing a template. Each download comes with two templates-- a 1-page template and a 2-page template. If you do not plan to print the backside, proceed with the 1-page template. If you plan to print the backside, proceed with the 2-page template.
2. Editing your template.
Open the PDF file while keeping these instructions open for reference. If you have Adobe Acrobat, be sure to select Adobe Reader DC as the software for opening/editing. If you have a Mac, you will not be able to use Preview to edit. This must be edited in Adobe Reader DC. Select the text you wish to change by clicking inside the text box (do not click on the "Edit" button) and re-type your information. You will only need to do this in one of the invitations as Reader will duplicate it automatically in the other invitation. Please see #1 or #5 on my FAQ page if you encounter any issues with this step. See a screen shot of what an editable PDF template should look like when opened in Adobe Reader DC (PC & MAC views).
3. Changing the font or text size.
If you prefer a different font, text color, and/or text size, highlight or click into the text box you wish to change and select CTRL+E (PC) or COMMAND+E (MAC). An editor box will appear. This may take a moment to appear. Do not click on the "Edit" button.
4. Saving your template.
After you have finished editing your file, go to "File">"Save As" and save the PDF as a new file. If this step is missed, your details will not be saved and the file will return to its original state. If your file was included in a ZIP folder for download, you may need to save the file in a new folder outside of the original ZIP folder. Please see #1 or #5 on my FAQ page if you encounter any issues with this step.
5. Printing your file.
See my Printing Tips for helpful suggestions on how to print at home or a print shop in order to achieve the best end-product. See my FAQ page for a list of suggested places to have the files printed as well as places that will not accept these files. Print as many times as you need. Most files include trim lines and/or crop marks for cutting down to size. The invitations fit in envelope size A-7 or larger (this excludes the sports ticket and gift card invitations which fit in size 9 envelopes). These common envelopes can be found at most office supply stores or craft stores in a variety of colors.
